Believe it or not, you pour canola oil all over the hedgehog! It smothers the mites instantly, so one treatment is all it takes. The thing to be careful of is not to drown the hedgehog. They curl up in a ball, so if you treat them with their nose on the ground the oil can well up and drown them. It’s best to hold their head up and pour the oil over them, including their face….
