A Step Backward
July 9, 2011
We thought Sparky’s problems were over (the rescued calf with the terrible leg wound), but sometimes it’s 2 steps forward and 1 step back. All of the newly formed skin on his leg has broken down, and the wound is open again. It’s due to the horrible mud we’re struggling with after all this rain. We’ve had a session with the vet, and are starting medical intervention once more. Poor Sparky is confined to the stables receiving twice daily treatment until the wound is dry and healed. With all the rain we’ve had – and the mud it creates all around the animal areas – he could be dry-docked for a while. I hate to keep him confined, but there’s no other way to keep his leg clean and dry. He’ll get bored, so if you want to come and give him some cuddles, let me know!
