Best Humane Society in the World!
June 26, 2011
…By late afternoon we were getting seriously anxious. We had to depart very early the next morning, and worried that if we didn’t catch the second kitten it would die. The Humane Society assured us they would keep coming back to check the trap. We continued to stake out the area, laying more bait, keeping people away. FINALLY at 8 pm the little tyke peeped out, and after several failed attempts was tempted into the cage. Hurrah! What a relief. We could leave the island knowing that both kittens would have proper medical care, regular food and attention, and a good safe future. It wasn’t the way we’d planned to spend our last day of holiday, which was also my husband’s birthday. (Bless him; we often seem to be caught up in animal rescue on his special day!) But it was the most rewarding thing we did on this trip, and I wouldn’t have changed it for the world. Thanks to the Grand Bahama Island Humane Society for being so helpful and responsive.
