Bunny’s Move to Freedom
June 12, 2011
You might remember the mother bunny and her 3 tiny babies, which were facing certain death until they were rescued and brought to The Sanctuary. Well, the babies have grown up quickly and are now bigger than their Mum! All four have been desexed, which was our requirement before they could be rehomed or allowed outside. Lindsay and Ashleigh created a wonderful interim outdoor enclosure for the happy rabbit family, which let them acclimate to being outside – while still being safe and having a nutritious diet provided. They’ve had a roomy house packed with hay, a covered feeding area, and a large run completely lined with bricks to prevent a premature break-out. This week the fence came down, so the bunnies now have total freedom. We got an update today to say that they’re all safe and happy, and have remained right in the same area. Who wouldn’t, with a luxury apartment and a five course meal every day?! I’m so happy that they have the best of both worlds. Another happy ending!
