Hedgehog Horror

We are not a hedgehog rehab center, but when a neighbour came over with a sad sick hedgehog with mange, we couldn’t refuse to help. It was our first experience with mange, as all of our pet hedgehogs have been raised from babies and are clean and sweet. Mange is caused by a mite, and as you can see in this photo the hedgie has raised crusted sores all around his tummy. Some were broken open and bleeding. His eyes were crusted shut, and he was starving. The treatment for mange is simple and effective… (see next photo, below)…
