Is She Or Isn’t She??

Recently we noticed that our sweet goat Maddie looked a bit…different. She’d put on a little weight, and her udders seemed swollen. Although our male goat, Lucky, is neutered, we feared that perhaps a wild boy from the bush had made a secret visit. We asked our vet to check her out. He said she wasn’t pregnant, that it was probably just hormonal, and that some goats produce milk without being pregnant. That was a surprise to me. He even claims that a buck (yes, a buck!!) produced a record amount of milk. Hmmmm!! Each day Maddie’s udders are filling more and more. Yesterday I followed up and asked the vet how he KNEW she wasn’t pregnant, and he said, “Well, time will tell!” Here’s a photo from this morning. What do you think??
