Kiri's Donkey

It’s A Match!

February 12, 2011

With so many animals already under our care, there’s a limit to the number of animals Michael and I can continue to take on permanently. So, although I want to save them all and give them a loving refuge here, I’ve had to start looking at alternatives such as finding other homes for animals in need. This week we’ve been really successful at doing that. Here’s one example: I had a phone call about a donkey who had been rescued and needed a permanent home – could we take her? I knew we didn’t have enough grazing for another equine…but within 3 days got a call from a woman who was keen to adopt a rescued donkey. What serendipity!! They’ve met, fallen in love, and in spite of the special recovery care this donkey will need, she now has a wonderful new home with Kiri. We’ve placed some other unusual animals this week, too… more about that later!
