Polly’s Playmates
October 16, 2011
Now that we’ve found a wonderful haven for Polly, and Lisa has found homes for her 2 sheep and horse, the next priority are her 8 sweet hens. They were rescued from battery farms and brought to our Sanctuary, and Lisa adopted them from us. It’s sad that they now have a ‘broken home’ and must find a new one. Lisa calls them “The Girls”, and they’ve been her little mates. The Girls have provided countless hours of entertainment, affection (yes, hens are affectionate!) as well as eggs. There are 7 brown shavers and 1 white. Lisa gets 2 – 4 eggs per day. The hens are a bit older now, so although they still lay, they’re not as productive as a very young hen. This means their next home will need to be with someone who is caring of them for their own sake, and any eggs are a bonus. It would be ideal if all 8 could move together, but we understand this may not be possible. Please contact Lisa if you can help: lisa@ljservices . Let’s hope that our Sanctuary network can work it’s magic again, the same way you did for Polly! Thanks for your help in rehoming these lovely animals.
