TV Crew At The Sanctuary
November 6, 2011
It was a BUSY BUSY weekend at The Sanctuary. People arrived to adopt ex-battery hens; Sarah came to help clean HEAPS of cages and barns and runs to get us ready for the next hen rescue; Fiona and Ayel wielded pickax and spades to prepare the second section for concreting; members of the public dropped off injured/orphaned birds; new neighbours visited to see what we’re all about; supporters Gaye and Bruce popped in to leave off some nets for the fruit trees; Jasmin dropped off cages for the next hen rescue; etc etc. One of the most unusual activities was a visit from the film crew for TV programme ‘Asia Down Under’. They filmed a piece for their show about Mengzhu, an animal rescuer, and showed the battery hens coming to rehab here at The Sanctuary. Of course, all of our animals were eager to be on TV… and I think Maddie managed to get into every shot except this one. Now that Sparky has become famous as the spokesperson for the new Animal Party campaign, Maddie is determined to be a celebrity, too!
