White Rainbow
June 8, 2011
Have you ever seen a white rainbow? There was one at The Sanctuary this week. It appeared in the sky directly over the animals, and was quite an amazing sight. The wonderful people who are caring for the Sanctuary while we are away took this photo. Apparently, white rainbows are quite rare. They’re created when the sun hits water droplets in fog. Those droplets are too small to act like prisms and refract the light, so instead they just bounce white light back to us. I wish I’d been there to see it, but am delighted that Lindsay and Ashleigh captured it to share with us!
